It was an ordinary cycle in the Keybound software and The Mapper was mapping the keys as usual. It was almost the end of the cycle, but the process was far from over…
Perhaps due to a bug or a hacking attack, a glitch happened and The Mapper fell to the lost areas of the software, where scrapped code was forgotten, never to be refactored… It also lost most of its keys and the remaining ones have their functions warped.
In order to save the software from breaking entirely, The Mapper decides there’s only one thing to do: erasing the malevolent code and shutting down the system, before it’s too late.
Will it be able to fix the bug despite the challenge that lies ahead? Or will it remain forever trapped in the depths of Keybound?

A classic platformer?
You think you have already played any possible 2D platformer? Well, in Keybound you walk, jump, crouch and dash, but with a very small twist; the input keys change randomly.
Quickly adapt to each new mapping and jump to the top, in the hardest easy game you have ever tried!
The keyboard is your health
We all know about hearts and life bars. In Keybound, every time you take damage you lose some keys, and when the last keys fall down, it will be game over.
But don't worry; you will respawn at the last activate gateway, ready to resume... with a brand new set of input keys ;P
Casual and Hardcore
On the keyboard you can see the input associated to each key, but if you are in for an even bigger challenge, go for the Hardcore mode!
No hints this time, and the shuffle slider that changes your keys will start together with the glitch. Try the purest Keybound experience!
Climb up the leaderboard!
Reaching the last gateway is just the very beginning of your adventure!
Become a master of any mapping combination, and climb up to the top of the leaderboard!
Stream your epic journey!
Share your epic adventure with your friends and followers and have fun with them!
The on-screen keyboard will show the keys you press, making it very easy to understand your mistakes feats.
Credits
This game was originally developed during the Global Game Jam 2021.
The theme was Lost and Found (which we interpreted as losing and finding controls) and we used the RNG diversifier (in our case the key bindings).
